Scripture: Psalm 13
Psalm 13 begins with these words, “How long, O Lord?” While God is there for us, sometimes it doesn’t feel that way.
Take out a sheet of paper and write down a list of people in the world who may feel forgotten or left out. Perhaps they are all alone in a nursing home, or the victims of racial injustice, or maybe they lost a job or have a loved one who is sick. Pray for all of these people. Think of ways you can encourage one of them personally. Perhaps you can send a letter letting them know they are in your prayers. Consider ending your letter with these hopeful words at the end of Psalm 13: “But I trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me." (Psalm 13:5-6, NRSV)
