Scripture: Mark 6:50
In today’s Gospel, when his disciples are terrified, Jesus reassures them, “Take heart.” With these words, he addresses the terror of the immediate moment and, more importantly, offers a glimmer of hope that the frightening future the disciples envision may not be so bleak. Living through a time of fear and anxiety, when each new news report can be terrifying, Jesus offers us the same reassurance.
As a family, remind each other that there is always hope. Cut out a paper heart (or draw one on a sticky note) and write or draw on it something hopeful that you imagine for the future. Hang the hearts where all can see them - stuck on the refrigerator or clipped/stapled to a piece of yarn hung in a prominent place. Repeat each day as you wish and build a heart chain of hope.
