Scripture: Ephesians 2:8-10
Though we are prepared by God to move into the next chapter of our story, we often don’t know how it will turn out. Use the following story game to think more about how our next chapter of our stories with God unfold:
Story Stones
What are Story Stones? They are easily made or found stones that you decorate (paint or color) with images that help to tell a story. Stones can be made with a theme, like outer space. Once the stones are made they can be used over and over again.
Make a set of Story Stones using this easy recipe. You could also make them using illustrated paper taped to the top of recycled jar lids, or just with paper.
As we are telling our story and next chapter with Jesus, make Story Stones using the seven words from The Way of Love:
- Turn
- Learn
- Pray
- Worship
- Bless
- Go
- Rest
How to play the “Story Stone” game:
Place the stones in a sturdy bag or box. One at a time, each person who is playing will draw a stone out of the bag without looking. The story begins with the first person, and each person after that adds something to the story in sequence. The last person ends the story.
After telling your stories, discuss:
- Which was your favorite word to tell a story about?
- Which was the hardest word you drew to tell a story?
