Scripture: Matthew 20:29-34
When we see someone who needs help, we often jump to and lend a hand, regardless of whether the person actually needs help or wants help. Too often, we assume we know what a person needs, rather than asking. Even though Jesus is God, even though God knows our heart’s desire before we ask it, Jesus stopped to ask the blind men what they wanted him to do for them. Though we might have other’s best interests at heart, we should seek to partner with people rather than do something they may not welcome.
