Scripture: Isaiah 4:2
Isaiah's prophecy comes to the people of God while they are in the midst of exile, away from their homes and trying to make sense of who they are as a people. Does this sound familiar? We too are living in a time when it might feel like we are exiled and far away from our friends, extended families, and communities. We live in a broken, hurting world in need of a lot of hope.
Isaiah's prophecy brings the people of God hope while they are in exile. We can find signs of God's hope in the world around us, too, especially in nature. During the spring and summer months, we see flowers, trees, and gardens growing and producing things that sustain life on earth. Take a walk outside today, and look for God's hope. How is hope revealed to you in branches, flowers, and other natural elements? How is God making things new for all of us during this season of exile?
