Scripture: Matthew 26:1-16
Listen to the poem Lost Generation by Jonathon Reed, read once from the top to bottom and then again from the bottom to the top. Reverse poetry is poetry that gives you an entirely different poem depending on the direction from which you choose to read it. When this poem is read top to bottom, the reader gets one perspective of how the author’s generation.
After listening to the poem, discuss these questions:
- When you read the poem the first time, what kind of perspective did you get about the author’s generation?
- When you read the poem a second time, how did your perspective change?
- Have you ever had a situation where your perspective on something was changed because of a new experience or encounter?
- How might trying to be more aware of your perspective help you to be more open to looking at things from alternative perspectives?
