Scripture: Mark 6:30-46
Jesus’ ministry was often one of nourishing people, both body and soul. When next you gather for a meal, make time to listen to one another. Starting with the oldest person at the table, invite everyone to take a turn to share a memory of a favorite meal or memory around food. Share what made it special - was it the food (describe it!), the people gathered (who were they?), or the event it celebrated (what was it?) You might also name your favorite food or recipe or restaurant and tell why. Has it changed over years?
Perhaps you might gather a list of graces to say or sing together. Take turns leading grace, having one person recite the grace first while everyone else listens, then line by line having the leader say it, and the rest of the table repeating each line back. For inspiration on kid-friendly graces, check out Peanut Butter & Jelly Prayers and websites that list fun graces that kids sing at camp (do you remember singing these as a kid? That’s another chance to share a story!)
