Pray- June 29, 2020

Scripture: Matthew 21:12-22

Pray this prayer together: Jesus, you are our teacher and friend. You show us how to be as gentle as the sheep you shepherd and you model how to use our anger and outrage towards systemic change and establishment of equality and justice. Throw out our desires that do not serve you or your people. Open our eyes and hearts to all of your children- those who cry out for your healing presence, those who seek to be included and recognized, and those who are doing your work in the world to overturn tables of injustice as they seek systemic change. Challenge us to join them seeking justice and resisting evil. As we shelter in place and slowly return to places of worship, help our gatherings and buildings reflect a house of prayer, offering connection to you and your people, radiating your light and love.

You can also pray this shorter prayer as a breath prayer: We pray knowing you hear us. Guide us in all that we do. May all our words and actions help others feel and know your love. Amen
