Scripture: Exodus 2:1-10

Pray the following prayer together: What kind of trust must Jochebed have had in you, God, to place her baby in a basket, and that basket in a river, all to escape the murderous plans of a pharaoh? She trusted and yet did not know. But you did. What wonder must have stirred in the heart of Miriam as she watched this basketful of promise float down toward the pharaoh’s palace? She wondered and yet did not know. But you did. What kind of love would cause a pharaoh's daughter to raise a basketed baby into a man in the house of the one who sought his demise? She loved and yet she did not know. But you did. I too must trust, wonder, and love because right now I do not know all that you are calling me to, but you do. Amen.
