Scripture: 1 Samuel 16:1-13a

Stand in a circle with your family. Take turns having one person stand in the middle of the circle. As that person stands in the middle of the circle, you and your other family members will lay your hands gently on their head or shoulders. As you lay your hands on the person in the middle, everyone else should name something they are thankful for about the person. At the end of the person’s turn in the middle, have someone dip their finger in a small bowl of olive oil, make the sign of the cross on that person’s forehead and bless them saying these words:

“(Name), child of God, you are anointed by God in Baptism to go forth in the world and show God’s love. Amen.�
