Scripture: 1 Corinthians 11:24b
One of the most sacred and awkward moments in a Maundy Thursday liturgy is the Foot Washing Ceremony. It is largely offered in a symbolic way. Our modern culture has no place for this ritual that is so intimate and unnecessary, given most of our walking takes place with shoes in place on paved surfaces. Read about the tradition and think about whether or not your family might consider washing one another’s feet this day to commemorate Jesus.
