Scripture: Ephesians 2:8-10
During times of social distancing and stay-at-home orders, it's easy to daydream about the places we’d like to be going. Even if it's just to the movies or our favorite restaurant! It might not be as adventurous as what we would have done before, or maybe it will be more.
Read Dr. Seuss' book, Oh the Places You’ll Go (or, watch the read-along below.) In this book, the reader is told they are ready to head out in a new direction. That they are prepared for what lies ahead! In the same way, Paul tells the Ephesians, and us, that God has prepared us for good works through the grace God gives. We are ready to write our next chapter! We just have to start!
After reading the book, discuss these questions:
- Where will we go when we are free to do so?
- When you read the book, it says that sometimes there will be challenging times in our lives. Can you think of a challenging time in your life?
- How did that time shape the next chapter in your life, thinking about it now?
