Watch "The Breathtaking Courage of Harriet Tubman." For Harriet Tubman, escaping slavery alone must have felt like a huge mountain to climb, seemingly impossible. She not only escaped slavery; she came back several more times to rescue family members and other people. Her actions demonstrated tremendous courage. In our own lives, even though we might have doubts and fears about what God is calling us to do, we have the promise that God is with us as we face them, just like God was with Harriet Tubman throughout her life.

After watching the video, discuss these questions:

What were some of the many ways in which Harriet Tubman showed courage?

What kinds of obstacles did she face?

Do you think she had doubts and fears? Why or why not?
